⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Texan Café is an absolute gem in Hutto! The food tasted just like true Southern comfort—hearty, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. I had the meatloaf, and it was hands down the best I’ve ever had—tender, seasoned just right, and served with the perfect sides. And let’s talk about the pie… the chocolate silk pie was out of this world! Smooth, rich, and absolutely delicious—it was the perfect way to end the meal. The service was warm and welcoming, and the cozy small-town atmosphere made it feel like home. I’ll definitely be back again and again for more comfort food and pie!

A perfect happy night in the cutest spot. Super yummy friend green tomatoes. Crispy chicken fried steak and tasty blackened catfish + sides. Delightful coconut cream pie - best in class. But then the hot peach pie landed in a lake of brandy sauce, caramelizing on a sizzling hot plate with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream melting all over - best pie, best desert we ever had. The lady helping us was so nice, sadly can’t remember her name, but Brandy would fit bc she’s sweet!

My family and I have been going to this restaurant ever since we move here 13 years ago to Pflugerville, TX. The restaurant in itself has changed through the years for the better and nothing bad, but has updated itself through the years. The ambiance of the place is country feeling and like another home away from home almost. All the items on the menu are delicious and you cannot go wrong with some of their country fried steak options. Everything is massively made that you will need a to go box in most cases. The service is amazing, but they can be busy at times especially with large multiple groups walk in. Their pies are amazing and always made fresh in house. They do run out of options to choose from so be aware you may not get the option you would like from their menu. There is plenty of parking on the street or the lot across from the restaurant.

I saw liver and onions on the menu and automatically ordered. There are so few places that offer this staple Southern comfort food, I had to try it. My friend got the classic chicken fried steak. This place is legit, both were delicious. A tad bit salty, but the sweet tea made up for it. Known for their pies, but we were too full to try desert. Picture with flash, I already dug in and had to share.

Absolutely delicious! I had the bacon cheeseburger with onion rings—so good! The burger was huge, juicy, and perfectly seasoned. Onion rings were thick-cut with a great cornmeal batter. He had the chicken fried steak lunch special with green beans and mashers—everything was cooked just right, and the green beans were amazing! Our server was friendly, attentive, and let us enjoy our meal without rushing. We grabbed banana pudding and chocolate silk pie to go, and both were fantastic. Great food, great service, and true Texas charm. We’ll definitely be back!

Nestled in the heart of downtown Hutto, this cafe serves up southern comfort food and a generous selection of pies. They have a rotating blue plate special along with a lunch menu. Everything is great here, if you can't decide go with the chicken fried chicken or chicken fried steak

Delicious! Catfish and shrimp, fried okra, and sweet potato waffle fries are my new addiction. Their pies are the bomb dot com. Snicker pie, hot peach brandy sauce with cold ice cream, and s’mores pie… yummm 😋 our waitress is amazing, Becky needs a bonus!

Delicious country diner with an extensive menu of entres, sides, and especially pies. They have a couple dining rooms with many tables. We enjoyed the Elvis pie, the sweet baked potato, and the Texas toast. It's a twin to the restaurant in Taylor. The location is on Hutto's main historic street, adjacent to several other businesses worth visiting. There is free parking on surrounding streets.

Just look for the big ol'Hereford bull atop the building above the entrance of this wonderful little café in downtown Hutto, and you'll know you're at the right place to sit back and enjoy a munch or two. Food is good, atmosphere is rustic enough for my liking, and the staff is helpful, informative, and the kind of friendly that takes me back to small town Texas of when I was a kid. The sweet tea and pies are to die for. The food is good. * If I had to nitpick, I would have to say that the pot pie could use a little less of the borderline that is between chicken soup and chicken & dumplings taste, and needed more of a traditional pot pie taste, but, I did like the hefty amounts shredded chicken in it...and the chicken fried steak was missing a bit more of it's needed seasoning in the crust, but, had a good size to it and was cooked right. It does come with the basic white gravy that many joints serve with their CFS plates, but still, as I stated, it is still good.* Now moving on to the pies...Lordy me, I wanted to go find the lady that took her time putting that much love into something, and go hug her neck! Such amazing flavors, and a smell to each pie that would make you want to go back and question your very own grandma's cookin! Very, very good indeed. I do recommend this little slice of nostalgia to anyone looking for a good lunch, but dont rush or you'll miss out on what this café has to offer, that ol'feelin of when life was less hectic and more laid back, and a smiling face to boot!

If you're in Hutto, you have to stop by the Texan Cafe. The atmosphere is great, but the service is even better—Becky took care of us and she was excellent! The highlight was definitely the dessert. We tried two different pies and the flourless chocolate cake, and both were incredible. The pies were great, and the cake was delicious.
